Political Mad Libs

In a statement released last [DAY OF WEEK], [POLITICIAN] broke party lines by [VERB ENDING IN ING] [BRANCH OF POWER]’s decision on [CONTROVERSIAL NOUN], claiming that “We cannot allow our children to grow up in a world where the [ACTION] [OF/TO] [ACTION] is commonplace in American life.”

[OTHER POLITICIAN, SAME PARTY AS THE FIRST ONE] was swift to oppose this statement, arguing that “[SAME CONTROVERSIAL NOUN] has always captivated the public opinion. But outright [VERB ENDING IN ING] it will just further wrench us apart, pulling our beloved nation down a dark and divisive path.”

When asked by [PUBLICATION] reporters about [PRONOUN] response to [ORIGINAL POLITICIAN], [SURNAME OF SECOND POLITICIAN] replied that “Look, we all know about the tough questions posed by [SAME CONTROVERSIAL NOUN]. But we can’t in good conscience [THE SAME VERB THAT ENDED IN ING, BUT MINUS THE ING] [SAME CONTROVERSIAL NOUN]. That’s way too simple, and it doesn’t address the underlying cause behind it.”

[ORIGINAL POLITICIAN] did not respond to requests to comment.

lowercase letters

lowercase letters

for no reason at all

i decided

to write poems

in all lowercase letters

somehow they look insightful

or cool or something like that

especially when

the ideas

in them

are spread

across multiple lines

in a haphazard way

maybe its just a poetry thing

or maybe we just

like simplicity

or maybe thats just how i see it

oh

and by the way

the absence of punctuation

in my mind

looks cool too

in the same inexplicable way

as the lowercase letters thing

no idea why though

and if its the same way with you

then try

reading this all again

with normal capitalization

and punctuation

rules

it will not be fun
