To clarify: THEIR reality is in a webcomic, OURS is not. At least, I HOPE our reality isn't in a webcomic. If it was, the cartoonist has a sadistic sense of humor(that is, assuming our universe would be a comedy-maybe it's a tragedy?). Then again, Earth is just one of trillions of planets in the universe; why would the cartoonist focus on it? Maybe all of Earth's history is a story arc, and all of human history is one comic. I would want to read that comic...

People have debated whether July 4, 1776 was the TRUE founding of America. The New York Times's "1619 project" argues that it was truly 1619, the year the first slaves arrived in America, was the true founding of America. 1492, the year two worlds met for the first time, also seems like a promising candidate. However, all of these are incorrect. The TRUE founding of America was 80 million years ago, when North America split from Eurasia(however, this was not due to controversy about taxation).

Grownups have midlife crises; kids have mid-summer crises and mid-weekend crises. Teenagers have mid-childhood crises, the DC multiverse has mid-crisis crises, TV shows have mid-run crises(maybe at season 5 or so), the modern world has mid-apocalypse crises, these comics have mid-title text crises, authors of long book sagas have mid-series crises, phones have mid-battery life crises, languages have mid-evolution crises, dead people have mid-death crises, seeds have mid-germination crises, and the world is in a plain old crisis.
